Q. Why are Iva's International cosmetics and skin care products better?

A. There are several reasons why you can depend on Iva's International products for excellence. Iva's International products are formulated using the highest grade of cosmetic ingredients. No product is marketed until it has passed every test to Iva's International satisfaction.

Q. How do Iva's International cosmetics fit into the various color theories that are so popular now?

A. Iva's International does not endorse any particular author's color theory. We do, however, recognize the importance of making proper color selections to looking your best. So, we at Iva's International, have developed a skin care and cosmetic class where distributors and any one who wants to know can learn how to differentiate between whether a skin color has a yellow, gold, orange or bronze undertone. By knowing the undertone that a cosmetic or skin has, one can stay within a particular color family. This means that one's clothing and makeup should all coordinate within a particular undertone family and should not be mixed.

Q. Is Iva's International foundation makeup oil free? Water-based? What does it all mean?

A. Don't confuse water-based and oil free. A water-based foundation is not the same as an oil -free one. Water-based foundations may contain some oil. In fact, the vast majority of foundations on the market are not completely oil-free. The difference between Water-based and Oil-based foundations is the percentage of oil that each contains. (Most water-based and all oil-based foundations contain oil and at least 50% water) Those with a higher percentage of oil are considered oil-based. Those with thickeners and fillers in higher percentages are called water-based. By definition, Iva's International foundation is oil based. It is a combination of water and oil...with a higher percentage of oil, and, for some very good reasons. Foundations with oil/water combinations, like Iva's International, have several advantages over oil-free and water-based foundations. During application, approximately 90% of the water in any foundation will evaporate. You experience a pleasant, cooling effect on the skin. However, because it evaporates, this water is not absorbed into the skin. Neither is the oil. The oil does form a protective barrier to help retain precious moisture already present in the skin. Because foundations containing more water than oil tend to dry out during application, they can cake on the skin. Oil/water combinations give the skin a smoother, more sheer appearance and give more uniform coverage of color. The color doesn't separate, so you get a smoother, more even application.

Q. Are Iva's International Cosmetics "hypoallergenic?"

A. Hypoallergenic means that a product has been tested for adverse reaction against a competitive product and is less irritating. Hypoallergenic does not mean that a product is totally non-irritating for all users, nor does it mean that everyone can use the product without irritation. Iva's International products are tested even more thoroughly. Each product is dermatologically tested to assure the safety of every Iva's International product.
